Today, the 10th of August 2016, we begin our long road to prepare for the ultimate shutdown of Zimbabwe (31ST of AUGUST 2016), yes Zimbabwe our beloved country, until President Mugabe and his government step down or give an indication of the political process that will transform the hopes of our country. We have consulted widely, deeply and extensively, across the length and breadth of our country. The people are agreeing that the ZANU PF government, in particular President Mugabe himself, has failed dismally, and no longer has the capacity physically, politically or otherwise to restore the hopes and dreams of our people. He and his ZANU PF government must now step down.

Over the last months, citizens from across the political divide have used every peaceful means available to them to send the message clearly to President Mugabe and his government. Several petitions, marches, stay ways; demands, videos, etc have been done or sent to the President directly or indirectly. The President has NOT responded to the issues raised by the citizens, opting to resort to his best known strategy of political arrests and intimidation. In the process of trying to intimidate citizens into silence, the President has presumably violated a series of sections in the country’s constitution.

That on its own is enough grounds for the President to step down, not to mention countless other transgressions committed over the long course of his reign. Accordingly, a constitutional application is before the Constitutional Court, asking the esteemed bench to determine whether or not the President is in violation of the very supreme law, he pledged to uphold.

EVERY single Zimbabwean, wherever they are, whatever their situation, have a role to play in this. This includes civil servants who have not been properly and adequately remunerated for years, the war vets, students and labor unions, youth and women movements, diaspora, unemployed, commercial and rural farmers and even children. Posters and videos will be circulated online and distributed physically as a continuous reminder of this very historic day in our country. People must begin to stock all they need during this indefinite period, and we must be ready to make this ultimate sacrifice for our country.
The time has come to work together as citizens to put FINALITY to the governance madness that has gripped the country and to turn around its fortunes and author a better and greater future for our children and generations to come.

No matter the imperfections or ill-timing of this day or this message. There is no perfect or better time to do this. That is the day that the Lord has chosen. Let us act with all our imperfections and ill-timings to put an end to this and restore our status as citizens and our pride as a country and indeed our dignity as a people. Do whatever you can to make this a success, make and share a video, share the message on your contacts, stockpile the utilities you’ll need, convince others, play whatever part you can in a peaceful but resolute way. We all Love Zimbabwe!!!

Inspiring Quotations

"The determined efforts, and spirited focus by Zimbabweans from all paths and circles of life against authoritarianism as epitomised by #Tajamuka, #ThisFlag, churches, political parties, individuals etc just transmits a 'zing' of confidence, hope and dawn of a new dispensation from my skull nerves to my balls right to the tip of my foot. Authoritarianism and the despotic dispensation are under electrocution."
- Adolf, Kubatana subscriber in reply to our question asking what keeps people inspired during these tough times
" It was good and permissible when the flag since 1980 was carried by every Harry and Tom to Rufaro Stadium or National Sports Stadium to support Zimbabwe's national team the Warriors. It is good and permissible when the flag is carried about by women and children flocking to the airport to routinely receive the President from his many foreign travels. It is good and permissible if the flag is mutilated and redesigned on the party regalia of the country's self-acclaimed LIFE RULING SINGLE PARTY. It is now bad and not permissible when it is carried by those who demand that the sacrifices of those who lost their lives and years in the liberation struggle be respected by those in power through fighting corruption; practising good governance; public accountability by bringing to book those who are responsible for the missing $15 billion diamond revenues; fiscal austerity by cutting down on the many annual trips the President embarks on; by cutting on extravagance through avoiding the purchase of expensive Range Rovers when the govt is very broke to the point of asking for financial help from those it says are destabilising the economy and country."
